Color/Description
Ranges from yellow, orange, red, and shades of brown with streaks of black or purple. Sapwood is usually a pale yellow. Colors are lighter when freshly sanded/cut, and darken with age.
Workability
Very oily wood, can sometimes cause gluing issues. Color can sometimes bleed into surrounding wood when finishing. Has excellent turning properties.
Uses
Fine furniture, musical instruments, turnings, and other small objects.
