- Color/Description
- Ranges from yellow, orange, red, and shades of brown with streaks of black or purple. Sapwood is usually a pale yellow. Colors are lighter when freshly sanded/cut, and darken with age.
- Workability
- Very oily wood, can sometimes cause gluing issues. Color can sometimes bleed into surrounding wood when finishing. Has excellent turning properties.
- Uses
- Fine furniture, musical instruments, turnings, and other small objects.
